I required the radiotherapy at short notice and everything was brilliant. The team could not have been more kind, helpful or supportive. I feel very lucky to be treated at such a wonderful hospital

Everything was perfect - lovely receptionists, kind and skilled radiographers who helped me with my neck brace. Nothing could have been better.

The care given by the consultant radiologist and his colleague together with the nurses in that department assisting with the biopsy and the nurse on the ward who kept obs on me post the biopsy were brilliant both in physical care, explanations and empathy. I was particularly impressed with the fact that the biopsy was totally pain free when undertaken. Whilst I have given 5 stars throughout, I did not need any help with the sandwich and coffee provided on the ward but I was impressed with the care taken by Jes, the nurse on the ward who was delightful, calm and efficient and it was great to have the food and coffee come on a tray with milk, etc. I have not been used to such in other hospitals in the past. I have always been impressed with the cleanliness of the Royal Marsden in both sites and that there are lots of toilets which is a change from the old style hospitals! I should also mention the staff on Reception at Fulham Road today, 4 March 2021 who were welcoming which was great because I had telephoned to say I would be about 15/20 minutes late as my driver was stuck in unexpected traffic jams near the bridge.

I wouldn’t change anything!

They all looked after me well in the endoscopy suite, after anaesthetic the nurse was with me when I woke up & was there until I was fully awake.

The only thing I would say is after not eating for over 24 hours I was given a couple of packs of biscuits (5 biscuits in total) I did expect at least a sandwich.

I think information from current best practices about the likelihood of the cancer coming back given the patient’s history is of utmost interest to people in my position. Also, what is the right balance between proactive screening (even if it costs money) vs. ‘Over diagnosis’?.. it would be good to be informed of the practical options and current thinking on this topic and for this information to be made readily available.

I am overwhelmed by the care I received from the Franklin team in radiotherapy. They treated me with so much respect, dignity, kindness and most importantly friendship. I am going to miss them all!

I cannot in any way fault any of the Marsden nursing or radiography staff that treated me during my run up to and actual treatment I have had. It could not have been better. I thank all .

The neuro oncology clinic were superb in every way. They made sure i was always kept informed of any changes and delays in a timely manner.

The main reception staff were quite rude and could have been more understanding.
